Chapter 8: Email Notification
Users can choose to receive email notifications from any
blog, group, or forum. The information
presented below on receiving email notifications is broken down by forums,
blogs and groups.
Forums
Users can subscribe to all forums regardless of which forum
they are in by clicking the “Forum subscriptions” link on the right side of the
page. After clicking this link, you will
be taken to a page that lists all forums on the HOT-Ready site. To subscribe to a forum, click the
appropriate link in the right-most column.
By default, “No” is listed in the column. Once a user clicks the work “No,” the link
will change to the word “Yes.” This
means that the user will now receive email notifications when the forum in
which he or she subscribed to says “Yes” in the right-most column.
Blogs
Users must subscribe to email notifications from blogs on an
individual basis. While on the blog page
that you would like to subscribe to, enter your email address in the box under
the “Syndication” section of the right side of the page. You may have to scroll down to find this
section of the page. Once you have
entered your email address, click “Go” next to the box. Registered users’ email addresses should
automatically populate into the box when logged in.
NOTE: You must subscribe to each blog. Subscribing to one blog will not provide
email notifications on information from another blog.
Groups
Like blogs, groups must be subscribed to on an individual
basis. While on the group home page of
the group that you wish to subscribe to, click the “Subscribe to group” link on
the right side of the page. Doing this
will provide you with email updates for all functions of the group, including
the media gallery, blog, and new members.
