Chapter 7: Groups
This chapter discusses using groups on the HOT-Ready
website.

When a user clicks on the “Groups” link on the navigation
bar, they will arrive at the Group Category Page. From this page, the user can choose which
category he or she would like to browse.
Once a category is chosen, the user will be shown what groups are within
the category.

View a group, click the title of the group. To apply to a group, select the “Apply to
Join” link below the title. Please note
that some groups are secure, in which if you are not a member then you will
receive a Page-Not-Found error. If this
occurs, please contact the administrators at ens@hot.cog.tx.us
to access the group. Once you enter a
group by clicking its title, you will be taken to the group’s home page.

You will notice that each group has their own blog,
discussions, and media gallery. Use the
links on the right-hand side of the page to open each of these resources for
the group.

To request membership to a group, you can also enter a short
message explaining your reason for joining the group and click the “Request
Membership” button on the right side of the page.
As a short note, many of the blogs are used to pass
information and provide an easy way to link to documents that need to be
reviewed prior to a meeting. The media
gallery is normally used in groups to upload files for review prior to
meetings.
